We actually have taken to two different approaches to Kara/Supergirl; one comedic and one serious.
For "Sorry", Kara is more of your typical teenager. She's awkward and a little goofy and still finding her way. We went with this to make her more copmedically accessible. When you have someone who is effectively invinclble, you have to do something to make her relatable. In "Battling Bullies" she is a the product of a Kryptonian military academy. In our version of her story, especially in the novel that is being written, she has fought Black Zero terrorists, killed in battle nad faced off with a Kryptonian dragon. In past portrayals, Kara has been a bratty teenager or an awkward young adult. For the more serious stories and especially for the novel, we wanted Kara to be much more fierce and deadly while still capable of great compassion. For our story, Kara is a nacent samurai. |
